AshoreA Poem by MiriamMBBeing an outcast in life, never really fitting in and finding others who are outcasts like you to go through the journey of life with. It's such a great feeling. Our journeys spat us on
opposite sides of a small island You
see, we had set sail separately spent
years adrift waiting
for a home to peak over
the horizon for
years all we had seen was
a flat plain so
blue and so empty, But
now we have found each other two
unwanteds ashore and
with nothing but our dismembered boats and
doubt stained memories we
are building the world anew. At
night we face the cold coiled
up inside each other like two
millipedes When
the storms come We
ride the waves and hold on tight we’ve
won our battles we’ve
earned our right to be and
we’re no longer adrift at sea. Not
a single foot has tread our
new guarded shores and
our solitude who
visits sailing the ocean breeze, assails us singly on quiet nights when
the water merely laps the
edges of our world and
the stars go on for light years. © 2012 MiriamMBAuthor's Note
