Reminder of Your YouthA Poem by MiriamMBThis can't be all bones all this warm brown skin, light dancing on its softness
this fleshy heart thumping away beneath breasts, drumming so loud death stops and staggers back
all this warm river water coursing through those veins green vines springing forth from scalp,
fish swimming behind a starry night mouth,
sunlight in the whites of the eyes, water lilies perfuming sturdy thighs
this can't be all bones, this is youth this is a year-round spring, the sowing of seeds and the growth of new roots.
