RaincoatsA Poem by MiriamMBSomething lightheartedWe're children at play in the rain we're springing into puddles in our favorite rain coats yours blue like the gas stove flame mine yellow like the custard my momma makes we're splashing and jumping and there's no one else here our laughter rings through the air the thunder breaks through the sky and the lightening follows but we don't care because the rain is warm and sweet and our coats are long and strong and we've got all day to play and laugh and splash about, and we've got the sun tucked safe in our pockets we have no fear of torrential rain or darkness.
