One In a Million

One In a Million

A Poem by Mirab Irfan

I might not be the best but even in millions of them you would never be able to find me.

I am like beetles in dark.
That warmth in cold.
If not beautiful,
Then pretty as cherry.
I am the smile, playing on the edges of the lips.
I am like the care of a mother, lying in a cradle.
If not the princess,
Then the cute fairy sort.
I am the wisdom, saved for the right time.
I am the patience, made to test for a number of times.
I am that beauty of sea.
That screaming quiteness.
I am the uncountable stars.
I am the only place with butterflies.
I am unfathomable.
I am euphoria.
I am ecstasy.

I might not be the best but even in millions of them you would never be able to find me~

fantastic piece...love the analogies and the bookends of the first and last line...containment which is opposite of what the theme is...because the speaker is whatever she needs to be...

power barely contained...all those possibilities...

love it.
