Moonlit nightsA Poem by Amira El Masaiti
On moonlit nights, whispers and prayers lay
Concealed in deserted faces and brows Mornings as nights Nights as victories to the fears Thoughts presisted, again, odious absurdity The dreadful sins of memory of feeling and of consent It's orduous to say which is worse, their absence or their return My absence or my return I hear sounds, I see visions bringing unattainable delirium And I still hope to hope, and wait without the scares of disillusionment Standing on the verge of spinsterhood For solace and for castles in air © 2015 Amira El MasaitiReviews
