Moonlit nights

Moonlit nights

A Poem by Amira El Masaiti

On moonlit nights, whispers and prayers lay
Concealed in deserted faces and brows
Mornings as nights
Nights as victories to the fears
Thoughts presisted, again, odious absurdity
The dreadful sins of memory of feeling and of consent
It's orduous to say which is worse, their absence or their return
My absence or my return
I hear sounds, I see visions bringing unattainable delirium
And I still hope to hope, and wait without the scares of disillusionment
Standing on the verge of spinsterhood
For solace and for castles in air

Isn't there a calming solace when disillusionment is met with white light..when the sun rays carry a subliminal eureka message for you..yet patience is that hefty price-->your poem obviously inspired me..very heartfelt and beautiful poem that speaks from the depths of you..well done

A beautifully worded and heartfelt piece. This feels to me like a moonlit thought of what is hoped for, yet moves further away. Apologies if I am mistaken, but I enjoyed it very much all the same. Thank you for sharing.
