Another day in Paradise

Another day in Paradise

A Poem by Minnie
"

Day to day for a waitress

"

Just another hot damn day, waiting to wait tables down at the diner, this place isn’t as big as it once was. Some time ago I wished upon a star and blew a kiss to the dandelion, and my wishes were not granted.  So instead I just sit here on the porch smoking waiting on the clock to strike 2. I wish the sky would go ahead and fall on me, so the rain would go ahead and fall.

Just another day in paradise, just another broken nail, hot day in hell. Maybe I will sit down for a spell.

The last time I say it’s the last time, I hear babies laugh and parents arguing, Jennies boyfriend gave her another black eye, and she told us its just another fight, but I say its just another day in paradise, kill the pain with a strangers touch, with another cup of coffee. Boss says im too slow then he says im too fast, I just tell him to kiss my a*s, and then go take my second smoke break.

The day fades into night, and the clouds roll in, as it rains, I feel a breeze I feel everything, my life is just another day in paradise, just another dirty dish, another rainy night.

I pray I make it back home with out crying, I am so gone from this town im never looking back, the highway is too lonely, so I just sing along to the radio to stay wake.

All the things that were possible are now impossible, I just wish I could open my heart back up, still have a chance instead I fall to pieces when I walk in the door and all your things are gone, this place is a closed door, the pain is too real, the is girl maybe a robot she can still feel, the shock the pain the last night you held me was just a dream a dream of hope.
