Carrion

Carrion

A Poem by Griffin
"

Every time I've shown someone this one they've hardly understood it so if you don't it's a very long metaphor about how I broke a girls heart and I compare it to kill her violently.

"
Scar tissue healed around an open wound where time unbound the bandages down
From the center of your chest where the scar from when I ripped out your heart is found
You’re nothing but carrion now, you’re eyes glazed over and you’ve turned pale
And you wale and you wale every night from tremors of fright from our tragic tale
That rotted your mind, sped that decomposition, that divined my opined decision
To run ahead and leave you behind, that being said, that being the persuasion
That convinced me to never go to the coffin of your bed, to be buried in the casket of your head
Under the grave stone with your elegy, to sleep with the cold, rotting dead
That walks the hellish hallowed periphery, so sleep alone under bed sheets
That go six feet down, forget about me or my sunder that led to our love’s defeat
Or the bluster that I spewed when you were effete, that lie I mustered was so inept
The tear from your clouding eye, the blood that dripped from your lips as you slept
As I let out my sighs and you slipped from your cries and you fell into the grave of your bed
I acted surprised from a distance even though I suspected when witnessed the red
Seep from your breast and I realized what I held was the rest of your failing heart
The only unchastized part of life that bastardized child who fell apart
Had left in the home where it had to start, that cavity I left gaping under shattered ribs
As gravity pulled you down in the travesty of my design, tattered by my fibs
Splattered by your blood, and flattered by how the outcome had gotten rid of that stench
Cured corpses reek of, formaldehyde, steel and your love that made me wrench
I waited as the beating subsided until you couldn’t feel to watch you fall and die
And the tide to recede from your eyes to finally put the nail in your coffin and say goodbye
