Meeting a New Person

Meeting a New Person

A Poem by minimanjh

The meeting of new person can be a cold experience,
The introvert stays frozen like ice,
The extrovert turns up the heat, along with a pick
The warmth for persuasion, the pick for some intimidation,
The break of the ice, metaphorical like break a leg,
The introvert stuck, no warmth, retreats inside themselves
The extrovert delves, in the warmth of benefits, of ice breaking
Moving on,  discovering, building a warming relationship

Meeting people has always been hard for me. I tend to be a little shy, withdrawn and to some people that translates as being stuck up or being a snob, but I am not. I just have a hard time really opening up. This poem relates that to me.
