miss

miss

A Poem by Shaun Rudie

I think about you

across the room in

my mind

I see your figure,

warm, half in shadow

a song plays

I can't help

but sing quietly

it wraps around

us and I am again

with you

your scent

fills me

I am lost in

your touch

your lips on me

pressing like your

thoughts

cheek against

yours, I hold

you

 I hold you

your experience,

your childishness,

your pain

you pull me tight,

breathe out,

shake

your tear

wets my cheek,

you miss me

time falls away

as I fill

your senses

we are lost

I think

how can we return

to just the thought

of the other...

we've no choice,

have we?

life swirls

around us

for a time we are lifted,

played against each other's

bodies, thoughts,

dreams

we fall to earth

separate, longing,

having touched

each other's

joy

memory is

strong, and

I know you're

out there...

you're thinking

of me

We've all missed someone that bad, at some point. This poem is strong with emotions.
