Fall

Fall

A Poem by Shaun Rudie

a gold-flake tree,

leaves spun of autumn

a cool breeze splashed about like

colorless paint,

turning things inward,

preserved

scent of rest, peace

the sky, robin’s egg blue

clouds, puffy with thin, wispy tails

an austere blanket soon to cover,

a quilt woven of sleep
