fatigue

A Poem by Shaun Rudie

dull me will you?

this passing of life,

I am as a watcher only,

senses

a shell

but I still smell her on my pillow

and all of life is in my

nose

So few words, yet they carry your story well. From your mood in the title, I know you have been in battle a long while, and even though you shout your challenge in the first line, you let me know you have been hurt and affected. I love this intense switch-over, like a quick battle: You have risen from the stance you have as "watcher only" -- distant, cerebral unlooker, "senses/a shell "--- to the intensity of scent-evoked, powerful, visceral feelings for your absent woman. "All of my life is in my/nose" lets me feel the rise of your feelings, be they memory or desire. I like this piece, and that you are not defeated. I relate to the power of the nose, the bonding of scent.

very sad..I have a feeling things will get better for you very soon.
I know one thing that always cheers me up--trash picking..whoot!!!
it'll take the smell away if nothing else. Nothing like finding something useful that was thrown away..I think we can relate to the trash on some level..who hasn't been thrown away at some point, in one form or another?
