shell

shell

A Poem by Shaun Rudie

hate crimes

picking at a scab with an axe

sure to bleed

squares on a checkered flag

feud for attention though they’re on the same flag

car frame crumples

beer scream sirens

red lights attention like yellow

denim on a monkey

we’re rigid,

straight-backed

life is our

bomb casing
