Amber Strands

Amber Strands

A Poem by Shaun Rudie

 her hair, amber strands

 eyes, sorrow green,

a pool of care

 beneath, a gentle smile, her

feathered words tickling me

(lifting)

i giggle out my love for her,

such a child formed

by her kindness,

new and giving

 i awaken with her blanketing

touch and surrender her

my will

 my shadows disperse like

breath-blown sand,

a yellow package opened in me,

a sun of bright

beauty
