Eternal promise

Eternal promise

A Poem by Mind Over Heart
"

When a mother misses her young child while she is away on work. Clouded with illusions and apprehensions while boarding a transatlantic flight, leaving behind a 5 year old at home.

"
Promises to keep….

If I ever go, without saying goodbye to you..
Please know I always said, even when not heard by you..
For I have promises to keep, even when I am not near…
Leaving a part of me in you lad, have no fear

If there is a morning when your sky is grey..
Know the thunder is bringing to you, my love, anyway
It’s to the stars and moon that I will pray
To make you see the world as new each day

If I ever go without saying good bye to you..
This world my lad will clench and protect you..
For I have promises to keep, even when I am not near
So feel the sun, breathe the air and have no fear

Oh this is so so sad... Not just for the mother leaving her small child ...but of course for the very young lad that really doesn't understand why his mother must go...
Lovely words ... to describe such sad feelings...

This poem is written very emotionally and speaks from the perspective of a mother who had to leave her child behind as a result of circumstances. Even though she may not be with her child, she wishes the best for them, that they are loved, and enjoy every day of their life, remembering that their mother loves and will always love them.
