The myth of right

The myth of right

A Poem by williams

A question mankind continues to fail"
a myth that wrecks homes,
splits minds,
and haunts the soul:
What is right?
What is wrong?

Simple questions.
A million answers.
And most of them
don’t save us.

Wrong is our daily routine"
the thrill that makes your heart skip a beat,
that sweet sting in your chest.
In the moment,
you savor it.

But in the silence after,
you regret it.

Because deep down,
you knew it was never right.

And yet,
when you sit with yourself,
and ask:
Then what is right?
your mind goes blank.

Because right doesn’t flirt with you.
It doesn’t chase a thrill.
It arrives uninvited,
quiet and unfamiliar"
meant to build,
not to entertain.

It annoys you at first,
asks for effort,
patience,
discipline.
But in the end"
you feel full.
Whole.
Light.

Right and wrong"
they shape us,
save us,
or destroy us.
They are the lines
between what we survive
and what we become.

The question was always destined to fail. People who presume to speak the answer might not be wrong, but that is only their truth. It's something subjective, formed by our upbringing and experiences. Then, as you said, it will shape us. Either becoming our salvation or our downfall in the end. I hope you're doing well this evening, friend. As always, your poems are a joy. Succinct, but well done. Made me stop and think for moment, when I'm kinda mentally in a rush towards I don't even know what right now. So thanks :)
