I can totally here this as a song such as Stevie Nicks, 'Thunder only happens when its raining" with that defiant yet heartbroken thread that made so many relate to in her music.
This would be a killer chorus
"Starts out so innocent.
Now she's all in your head,
Dream of her while we lay in bed."

I like this as it is but it would also be good if expanded into a story like The Eagles 'Lying Eyes'.
