The Last Walk

The Last Walk

A Poem by Mimozi
"

It happens sometimes that losing lover forces you to lose a friend and a soul-mate too...

"

We walk in silence,

Blind to all beauty around us

Oblivious to the elements

Impervious to the cold

Entrapped by the unsaid

Paralysed by its inevitability

Unwilling to look at each other

Let confirmation burst in the open.

It's over.

We are running out of road,

Out of options,

Out of excuses

Nothing is left but silence

Heavy silence saying more than words ever could.

I feel a suffocating tide rise within me

And I fight to control it

I don't want to spoil the moment by being a woman

This drama feels too real for dramatics

I swallow the bitterness, the bitchiness, the betrayal and walk on

We never needed the triviality of words to communicate, you and I

Seems befitting to drift in silence too.

Beautifully written. It is tragic that love can bring you to feeling like this.

So well written and powerful. Your words took the reader on the road to sadness. Sometime words don't mean much anymore. A excellent poem.

"Heavy silence saying more than words ever could..." a great pphrase to explain the difficulty of communication between the once-upon-a-time lovers....
