The Flame Within

 

The steel sky reaches through the window.

The wind snaps branches to intimidate.

The rain is draining colour from the landscape.

Like melancholy seeping through the air

 

I gaze upon the outline of the mountains

Inhale the humid freshness of the air

And revel in the bleakness of the season

Embrace this tranquil feeling rare.

 

Today through grey I see the silver lining

I have the power nature to subdue

The flame within me's burning, shining brightly

The flame of passion gently stoked by you.
