Through the Seasons

Through the Seasons

A Poem by Mimozi

Bright as the brightest of winter suns

Infusing my sight with dazzling yellow light.

You shine in my soul and glow in my heart.

But just as my skin does not feel the warmth

My heart engulfed in light still remains cold.

Oh you shine and you shimmer, like winter's first snow

You dazzle and glimmer, you glow and cause awe

You look so inviting, yet freezing to touch

I roll numb within you your essence I clutch.

Chilling indeed.

I wish I were spring, vigorous balmy

I could turn your crisp lustre into warm liquid diamonds

I could unleash you and bathe in you

I could complete you with heat imbue.

Entwined we could birth summer.

Alas I am autumn

Languid, bountiful, content

I need light paired with warmth to ripen, ascent.

I need to drink fire, to fuel desire

You need to inspire so I can aspire

I need to receive so I can create

I have much to give but only if I procreate

I must feel that warmth so I can turn into gold

My fragrance, my fruit don't fare well in the cold.

And here lies the problem

I'm but a step behind you

Too close for compassion, yet too far to be of value.

Seems I need someone else to evolve into you.

Perhaps then your spring would turn me into dew.
