Empty sweetness

Empty sweetness

A Poem by DIANE J.T.

I look back on the times we spent tangled in each other arms,
My ear heeding the words spoken, the secrets and truths told
Confession of the your love for me and how this type of thing was new for you but you didn't mind being vulnerable
Sweet nothings you uttered on multiple occasions.
Little did I know while lying there letting you pour what I thought to be your richest inner being into the chest of my soul
I should have  gotten a jar to collect  all the little sweet "nothings"  spoken
Collected them to save for the day you claim that you were never content with  our brand of love
Saved it for the day you claimed that this was never what you wanted, Then I would have open the jar and made your words, our moments  of passion , into a currency that Time would accept  buy back the time spent loving you  and remove the newborn disgust for you. At least then your sweet nothing would have meant something and that time spent would have be give to someone more  deserving, me.
