My heart is
drenched in white And in the
color of the ecstasy you give When you’re
wearing blue jeans And the
national anthem Tastes like
they’re the same desire When I’m right
back where I Think I’ve
always been, and That’s the
place called loving you
I can’t keep
track of each white lie And I try not
to think of you in those Blue jeans and
the national anthem Just keeps on
flapping out its Support for a
scrambled egg and Rocky road
lovers riding Into the sunset
never Saying a
discouraging word
I wanna go back I wanna go back Back to the
days when Love was new I wanna go back I wanna go back Take me back to
those days Take me with
you
I’m tossing out
half-truths half white And dragging
out the bleach For your blue
jeans and the
national anthem Is a song
played by the free Didn’t I love
you freely But the thrill
was in the chase So you went to
California
Passed out
prone on sheets of white All cried out
and so Ready to be rid
of blue jeans And the
national anthem If I can’t be
at the top of chart I won’t be
number two Hotel sprees
and credit-card keys Two glasses in
the photos
I wanna go back I wanna go back Back to the
days when Love was new I wanna go back I wanna go back Take me back to
those days Take me with
you
Where’s the red
in our red, white, and blue Standing up for
myself And your blue
jeans And the
national anthem I’ll fight for
mine I’ll fight for
you Out on the
freeway I’m in love
with you © 2013 MimiW |
