You've Got To ScreamA Poem by MimRemember, to appreciate the silence, you have to screamWe must appreciate the coarser parts of life, Endings can be just as beautiful as the beginning Starts and finishes may be all you remember But I’ve always preferred the in-betweens True understanding is more than the definition of one thing. It is also the definition of another, The understanding of how one brings about another, And seeing how they build upon each other. You must be more than one thing, To truly be anything. You must lose, to learn the lesson, But the lesson you learn is that you’ve lost nothing. I scratch and pick until I bleed, Because it’s important to know at which point you break How can you know where to draw the line, if you’ve never pushed
it? Who says the line we draw must be straight? Bend it till it suits you, never bend yourself to fit. The beauty of nature is not just life… But death You cannot have just one thing, Without the rest. True art is not in a museum, But outside your back door. Religion lives not above, But within, and all around you. Never forget to notice, How the haves mean so much more to the have nots. Never forget… You’ve got to scream till you appreciate the silence Run until sleeping is a gift Got to lose to learn to love what you have If you don’t respect the pieces " how can you love the
whole? Your heart must be broken to value the gentle hand that puts
it back together. Analgesics are lost on those who have no pain, Only the tortured truly appreciate peace. The best part of creating " is breaking it all down again
and again We are nothing but the pieces… The pieces make the beauty " the beauty makes the thing. And if I could give just one thing to you It would be the knowledge that nothing matters more or less
than you think it does And that your perception of life is what makes it real We are not born " but self created Be wary of who you create yourself to be And always, always remember …to appreciate the silence …you have to scream… © 2013 Mim |
