Among the PinesA Poem by Millionth MuseAmong the pines, needle-tipped towers scraping the sky, I find symbiotic solace in the enormity of solitude Footfalls are feathers against the forest floor, for as I walk, my presence is blotted away by sunshine and summer squalls Opposite the weeping river I cross into confinement, a clapboard court where I am no longer a queen, but a courtesan of the mundane Gravel roads give way to hedges and highways, harbingers of sprawl that slowly sedate the senses-- but I remember… I summon in my mind the path back to clarity, here--where the water and wind, the timber and the texture, transport me to tranquility © 2010 Millionth MuseReviews
