Walking At NightA Poem by Millionth MuseStarlight breathed in hushed whispers, seraphic scrawling across a star-laden sky, tempting torrents of possibilities burned like candle light behind smoked glass, as I walked, head down, following my footsteps toward an ocean hued horizon, biting back the tightness in my chest, and the sugary stinging in my eyes until my own thoughts took flight, beyond the blushing of the sunrise, and farther still, until my yearning became a smudge upon the fading moon. Breathless and drained, I thought of salvation the sweet release of shackles formed by the dreary weariness of reality; How easy it would be to slip away into a world of my own design, where my muse and I could talk aloud in the hanging gardens of inspiration-- our voices writing memories on the wind. © 2010 Millionth MuseReviews
