UntitledA Poem by Mimi
“Mirror mirror on the wall”
Only you've seen the real me and never laughed (Who am I kidding…you laugh the loudest…) Day in, day out I sit in front of you and you’ve never judged me instead you gave me comfort and confidance. (Well just enough strength to keep goin) I’ve got rainbow colours on my eyelids but they don’t hide the sorrow in my eyes… (Trust me I hide it well) I’ve mastered the art of saying “I’m okay” without blinking … (I even believe myself) Today I’m wearing my smile with a dark red ' lipstick to match the marks on my arms and thighs… (After all I look good in red) Not enough concealer to hide the bruises on my neck, but then again who cares?...it’s not like they'll notice. (Finally I think I’ve got it) As I take my usual sit in front of you my dear friend… Applying these final touches I hope they'll notice me… © 2018 Mimi |
