Repercussions of a Referendum

Repercussions of a Referendum

A Poem by MilleniaWoods

It is not my place

To state whether you should have crossed in a certain space.

Whether you were IN or OUT,

Repulsed or pleased,

It has been decided,

That the vote was to leave.

Yet now at this historic moment,

Where uncertainty is imminent;

Let us not slander one another

But work together.

For in pride and bitterness we are even further divided

But through love, compassion and comradery, we can be reunited.

I love this. It's a big contrast to the anger I'm feeling over it. It's a rather cathartic piece that captures the idea that, although we disagree, fighting amongst ourselves will come to nothing.
