Silent slumber

Silent slumber

A Poem by Milinda_Moon
"

Eternal slumber or silent slumber? You pick...

"
I lay in silence awaiting slumber to consume me.
The wind outside my bedroom window swaying with such force.
Awaiting my heart to slow it's beats.
I finally drift off into silent slumber dreaming of nothing,
Seeing no one.
I finally awake to the morning sun.
Only to be reminded I'm still alive.
Welcoming the day with such fake smiles.
Maybe this smile will be different.
As if a painful reminder of what's yet to come.
I turn away from the lying truth.
Eternal fire burning from within.
My only thoughts lie within themselves.
The day is end and night falls.
My worries are gone.
Yet only for now.
I sleep in silent slumber that awaits to consume me and wonder
When will my eternal slumber will ever come.
