Pills and NeedlesA Poem by Nur SyamilahA tragic story of a teenage boy who's overcome by the evil and dark side of society in order to claim false happiness, only to be consumed whole and destroy everyone and everything around him.The boy never remained the same, After selling his soul, Drowning his life in scarlet gems, His heart’s as black as coal.
His legs had brought him to places, Places he hated most, He felt the strings tie to his limbs, As he felt ‘him’ draw close.
Mockery resounded from school, ‘Home sweet home’ is a lie, So he turned to what he thought best, And let it all fly by.
For that moment he was happy, The sadness flew away, He was laughing and smiling too, Sitting alone that day.
His comrade watched him crumble down, Down into a dark ditch, He watched him waste his own essence, And recklessly become bewitched.
He reached into the endless hole, Hoping to find remains And to pray the Devil away, To rid of the steel chains.
His whose heart is as black as coal, Whose face has distorted, Has become too blinded and numb, To turn to importance.
The boy embraced pills and needles, It drove him into rage, And sightless, as someone so dear, Was plunged into his blade.
