Only Clowns Can Attend This Special Screening of Horror Film ‘It’

Only Clowns Can Attend This Special Screening of Horror Film ‘It’

A Poem by Regan Meade

How terrifying would it be

to be locked in a room with your nightmare?

Blue exaggerated eyes,

Joker-esque grin,

Deceptively bright colors of red and yellow,

Pale chalk coated skin,

Stop laughing,

I’m not scared,

This isn’t a joke,

Not a single sighting within the last month,

No crooked smiles from tree lines

No croaking screams from next door,

No ‘false’ stories depicting lost children,

Red coated balloons,

yellow gritty ripped raincoat,

parchment boats made with love,

Lost underground in darkness’ lair,

“Clowns Only”

Now there’ll be a reemergence of fright,

No theatre is safe!

This is no laughing matter!

Stop laughing…
