You Did Not Take HimA Poem by mikaylalocklear1You did not take him, he left on his very own two feet. He traveled far and wide- in depths away from me. You did not tempt his fate, it all so easily swayed. Untethered from my own- with time he slipped away. You did not have to make declarations, his ears were thirsty to hear- the sweet whisper of forever in arms so far from here. You did not have to love him, I am sure that he loves you. And with all that is within him- I am sure that he'll be true. You did not have to take him,
he was never really here. I have but faded memories, and freshly fallen tears. © 2016 mikaylalocklear1Author's Note
