Collection of Short Poems

A Poem by Alice.H.Austen
"

Here are some disjointed poems that I had to write in English, however, I was quite proud of the way they turned out so I decided to share them. Enjoy Xx

"

The breaking apart

Shattered like ice

As taffy stretched

Open and open again

~~~
Lead veins
Stick pins in
Me, please
Want to show
I feel
No more
~~~

Standing on a ledge

She thought she might fly

The blood left behind

Said otherwise

~~~
there’s a little red Suitcase
under my bed
you’re unawares that i’m
Running away
~~~

Someone painted rainbows on me

Took me out smiling

Laughing and talking

Pity nobody knew that someone

Tore my skin away

When hiding behind closed curtains

~~~
I replaced berry with lemon
You screwed up your face
I wasn’t sweet like the photos
You didn't like that i was more
~~~

We are no jigsaw

I’m left hollow inside

An unbalanced seesaw

Not the irreplaceable one

I'm off to find another

This long night is done

~~~
Light from my phone
Sound from my headphones
Touch from my fingers
Taste of microwave meals
Feels like lonely
~~~

they say we look good

then they see our smarts

this is our lot

see us basic

know us last

wish they were attracted by

who we are first

~~~
Hey love
I'm going out
You got nothing left to offer
Off to find thinner legs
I’m left on the couch
Bye love
I'm going out
Sick of empty rooms
Off to find better men
Leave you in her arms
~~~

You took me as clay

A little broken and

Slightly smashed

Built me into something else

Removing all of me as you

Rearranged my shape

~~~
I had a car
A silver buic
You took the
Wheel and took
Control
Now we spin
Side to side
You stole my
Keys to life
away
~~~

As cracks in headstones you

Crept into our house with

Long fingernails that you ran

Around her cyrstal glasses

New mother like poison running

Down our halls onto the stairwell

The grass barely growing on her

Grave as you steal her place in bed

~~~
I keep running far
You took my hand, I had
to sever fingers just in case
If standing still i might melt
~~~

They see us with bursting smiles

And bright eyes laughing

They dont see the other seven takes

As we tried to find the perfect picture

One that lied so utterly

~~~
Tell me all, you say
We can make it through this
You with your painted cheeks
Perfect hair so straight
Nails caked in grey
You’re so pastel
Your degree doesn’t help you
Understand a bright palate
Like me
~~~

Mirror person staring back

Black circles, dark memoir of

Last night

Mirror person with messy hair

A reminder of some other guy

Mirror person such a mess

Maybe if i dont look then

I wont see how screwed up

We are together

~~~
I heard what you called me
I heard those words float
Around the halls
Didn’t cut me like you hoped
Just enough to make me
Leave you far behind
~~~

Sugar and pepper

Salt and sweetner

We collided harshly

Strangest mixture we were

Now I thrive on your touch

To smooth the taste

~~~
I love all of these, but might suggest that you let each stand in its own light and publish them separately :)
