Labyrinth

A Story by Mikaela Dollaganger
"

The reality of love, life, and everything in between

"

Human beings sure do fascinate me, the way they have such a desperate need to be original yet they go out of their way to blend in with the masses. They claim to be individuals yet love to conform to what is perceived as ”cool” in society’s eyes. All their attempts to be different soon become mainstream and all the rage soon dies down, the flame burns out and they find a new fad to obsess over. Their hazardous attempts to be deep and complicated, an intricate web of tangled problems and experiences are of course to no avail because at the end of the day they go and cry themselves to sleep because they know that the person they want to be and who they actually are well dear, they are galaxies apart in different dimensions and that mere thought is enough to send them into oblivion.

Sure you can go and drown yourself in copious amounts of alcohol or try every last goddamn drug on this fucked up planet you can go around and have a profuse amount of meaningless sex or go to a Louis XIV style orgy just to feel numb for a few hours, but what about when the high is over and you’re tossed back into your suffering, your inexplicable detest for everything around you. What the hell do you do then?

Society is a demon but we are its inhabitants. Society feeds off our pain because we let it, we give it the consent to run our lives, to make the decisions, to be the god forsaken vulture that it is.
