Chapter 8

Sasuke and Sakura dashed backwards into hiding spots when Sensei said now. But me and Naruto just stood out in the middle of the field, staring at him. Naruto smirked at me and began to charge at Kakashi Sensei but I stuck out my arm, clotheslining him.

“Hey!! What’d you do that for!!??” He gagged clutching his neck.

“Let me go first,” I hissed.

“Why would I do that I-”

I turned and glared at him, he shut up instantly and nodded.

“Get back, I don’t want to kill you.” I growled.

He jumped back and ducked behind a tree. I looked forward and glared at Kakashi.

“So, you’re going to be the first to face me are you?” He said emotionlessly. “Well...There’s no need for me to take this fight seriously so...” He reached into his ninja tools and pulled out a book.

Just as he opened it I released a small bit of my chalkra. The ground trembled slightly and he looked at me cautiously.

“Hmmm, I see. I won’t be able to read the book this time...Looks like the rumors were true huh?” He said putting the book away and facing me.

I took my stance, “You better get ready, Sensei. I hope I don’t kill you on accident, I can’t handle another village transfer right now.” I hissed.

He blinked and stood up straight, “Village transfer eh? Well...Here we go.” He whispered.

I snarled and flashed forward, landing a solid hit in his stomach. The clone disappeared in a cloud of smoke.

Shadow Clone? I thought angrily. I stopped and looked around, he was nowhere to be seen. Up....Left....Right....There’s only one other place he can be...Underground!

“I’m not stupid!” I yelled at the ground as he popped out of the ground and reached for my ankles. “Headhunter Jutsu huh? Such an old trick Sensei.” I scoffed, “You’ll need something more powerful like this,”

I made a series of handsigns ending with the dragon. “Fire-Style! Dragon Flame Jutsu!” I yelled, pointing straight at him and blowing chalkra fueled fire at him.

He gasped and jumped out of the ground, throwing 3 kunai straight at me. I dropped the handsign and fell to the ground, rolling to the left to avoid his kunai and throwing 10 of my own towards him.

Move! He’s coming from above! Ryuu yelled. I winced and flipped backward just as his kunai slashed where my head used to be. He’s going all out, he’s not playing with me anymore...I thought cautiously.

“I must say, I’m surprised. You did that fire-style jutsu and it doesn’t even look like your breaking a sweat.” He said standing up and wiping his kunai.

I laughed, “Please, that isn’t even an extent of my power. Here’s on you may recognize, Sensei, but you’ll also notice that I perfected it in my own way. You may want to refrain from making incomplete jutsu’s from now on, Sensei.” I laughed.

I stuck my right arm straight down and grasped it with my left arm, focusing all of my chalkra in that hand. When the lightning began to form I did the same with my left arm. Until I was holding to balls of lightning.

“No...” He breathed.

I laughed again and poured more chalkra into my hands, the balls grew and grew until they were nearly uncontrollable. I laughed evilly and lunged towards him.

“Lightning-Style!! Twin-Chidoris!!!” I yelled, my hands outstretched towards him.

He slashed his kunai downward and I felt a white hot pain on my face but I ignored it, pushing myself forward, reaching for a bell. My finger tapped the bell and he jumped backward. I growled angrily and stood up, cutting off the Chidori’s. His left arm was dangling slightly.

“Got you. How’s it feel to have a useless arm, Sensei?” I laughed.

He glared at me. I felt something hot drip down my face and off my chin.

“Darn, my blood was spilt first wasn’t it? Oh well, it’s nothing to-”

I stopped and coughed, blood filling my mouth as my old wounds reopened. I felt the bandages soak with blood and laughed as the pain brought tears to my eyes.

“Sorry, Sasuke. Looks like these clothes are going to be stained when I’m done here.” I whispered.

I heard a faint rustling in a bush across the field and knew he heard me.

“That’s enough, you can’t fight anymore. Killing you isn’t going to-”

“To what?! Everyone in this Village wants me dead anyways! You’d be doing them a justice! You’d probably be named a hero! Hah! Anyways, I’m not done playing with you yet, I still need to grab one of those bells from you.” I hissed, bending my head down and sticking my right arm out.

I took in a breath of air and closed my eyes, focusing on the sword that was sitting in my room.

Your going to use that already? You must want to end it fast huh? Ryuu said.

“Shut up, I don’t want to hear it from you. You were on my side a few hours ago, and now your suddenly against me having friends. Well here’s a newsflash for you, I’m not going to let you control me, Ryuu. I’m done with your crap. You’ll listen to me or we both die here and now.” I whispered.

Hmm...You drive a hard bargain. To bad I could just take away my chalkra and leave you with nothing... He said angrily.

I chuckled, “The thing is, your chalkra is now my chalkra.”

“Who’re you talking to!?” Kakashi yelled.

I laughed again, “No one in particular. Anyways, it’s time I call my friend here to help.”

“Your...Friend? You know a summoning?” He said angrily.

“You angry, Sensei? Yes, I know a summoning, 3 actually. But there’s no need to bring them into this...I don’t need a summoning for this one...” I laughed.

“Wha-”

I concentrated and let out half of my chalkra, the ground shook and the river next to us crashed with waves. Naruto let out a yelp and hid behind the tree he was next to. The ground around me cracked and groaned until it gave way and I was standing in a crater that my chalkra had created. I lifted my head and opened my eyes.

“Come, Dark Sword Shintani, serve your purpose and obey your master. Shintani Kyuyozomi!!” I yelled.

A sword flashed into my hand, glowing with an odd black glow. I felt the sword glue itself to my hand in a reassuring gesture.

“A dark sword...Where did you get that?” Kakashi Sensei asked.

“You could say I “got” it from my father, a while ago.” I smirked, looking him straight in the eye. “Shintani’s not just a sword. He’s a person. You’ve heard the legends right? The 5 dark weapons? How they were once people but had a jutsu put on them by the 5 kages, turning them all into weapons of mass destruction? It just so happens that this one was sealed by the Kazekage. The Second Kazekage to be exact.”

“That’s impressive, I never imagined a mere Genin would this strong. Well. Although I’m impressed I’ll have to tell you that I still don’t think you can beat me.” He said emotionlessly.

I smirked, “We’ll see about that.”

I flashed towards him, my sword raised. He saw through my attack and dodged left, lunging forward and hitting my spine. I winced and spun around, slicing just where his head was. He deflected my blow with a kunai and lunged forward againhis kunai missing my head by centimeters. I ducked down and flipped forward, my heel colliding with his face as I went down. I grabbed onto his legs and twisted his left knee sideways until it cracked satisfyingly. He yelled in pain and slashed downward. I stuck out my sword and stopped his kunai easily, grabbing his arm and latching onto his should with my legs. He thrashed around, trying to shake me off angrily but I elbowed him in the face and yanked his shoulders back so he couldn’t move. I flipped Shintani around in my hand and slashed downward, cutting the strings to one of the bells and catching it in my hand. I grinned victoriously and kicked off his head, landing 20 feet away from him, the bell dangling in my hand.

“I win,” I grinned.

He glared at me and panted angrily. He glared at me for a long time before he stood up and rubbed his shoulders.

“Good job, I’m glad to call you my pupil. And you better be glad that I’m your Sensei. You would’ve had problems with the other Sensei’s. I’ll have a talk with the Hokage about your...er...Abilities later. For now go sit by the stumps and focus on healing your face. I slashed you pretty deep.” He said happily. Then he turned to face the woods, “She got a bell on the first try! Are you guys ever going to come out of the woods and try?” He challenged.

I grinned and limped over to the stumps. Using those Jutsu’s in succession like that really took a toll on my body, I shouldn’t have lost control like that. I thought miserably. At least you won, it could’ve been worse, you could’ve summoned Mitsuki, Taoma or Katsushi, now that would’ve been hard to explain...Ryuu trailed. I snorted and sat down, setting Shintani down beside me. At once the sword began to glow a creepy shade of black, morphing into a human before my eyes.

“Great to see you again, Shintani. How long has it been?” I said casually.

He smiled. Shintani is 1 of the 5 weapons in the legend, once a human, now a weapon/human hybrid. He has black hair that falls in front of his face and wears all black clothing. It’s kind of ironic, considering he’s a dark weapon and everything.

“You look terrible.” He said.

I frowned, “That’s not very nice, we haven’t seen each other in a long time and the first thing you say is I look terrible? Just kidding!” I said smiling.

He grinned, “Now take care of those wounds, seeing you bleeding like that just makes me sick,” He said loosely.

I shook my head warily and held my hand up to my face where the gash was, performing a healing ninjutsu and waiting for it to heal.

“It’s like the first time you figured out how to summoned me, when I got here you were covered in blood to...” Shintani trailed.

I laughed, “I didn’t know I could summon you back then,” I muttered.

“Yeah..Well, after you killed the owner I became rightfully yours. What fight were you in again? Bandits or something?” He said, trying to remember.

“Bandits,” I muttered faintly. “Wow, that brings back memories...” I said sadly.

Shintani glanced at me, “Whoa, wait! I wasn’t trying to stir up bad memories or anything! Honest! I was just trying to be nostalgic and-” He said frantically.

“Save it, you remember that night as clearly as I do...Don’t you? How you were the weapon I used...To wipe out my clan..My family...Lilac, Lily, Daisuke..All on account of that Dragon...” I muttered.

“Hey, I didn’t mean to take over your body and kill everybody, it just happened. I said I was sorry didn’t I?” Ryuu said through my body.

“Sorry doesn’t count when it comes to that. And...WHO GAVE YOU PERMISSION TO SPEAK THROUGH MY BODY YOU STUPID REPTILE!!” I yelled angrily.

“I CAN DO WHATEVER I WANT YOU LOVE-SICK PUPPY!!” He yelled back.

“IT’S MY BODY! I DECIDE WHETHER OR NOT YOU CAN SPEAK THROUGH IT UNDERSTAND??!!!!” I yelled furiously.

Shintani nudged my arm.

“WHAT!?” I yelled turning to him.

“Ummm....Your kinda attracting the attention of your squad over here and your voice keeps switching from your voice to a weird demonic voice so...Yeah...I just thought I’d stop you before it got bad....” He trailed nervously.

I shut up and focused on healing my face again, ignoring the stares I was getting from Kakashi Sensei.

I sighed and moved on to my shoulder wound.

“I don’t even want to be on a squad...I want to be back in the Sand Village...It was better there...” I trailed.

“I know...But a transfers a transfer ya know? You can’t go against what the Kazekage wanted...Besides...Uhh...I don’t got anything to go with that...” Shintani laughed.

I grinned and looked over to the other side of the training field. I sighed when I saw Naruto dangling from a tree.

What an idiot, I thought. I looked around, Kakashi, Sasuke and Sakura were nowhere to be found. Weird...It’s quiet...I thought cautiously.

Just as I began healing my stomach a piercing scream that I knew to be Sakura’s ripped through the air to my left. I was up instantly, running towards the direction of the scream when I stopped.

“What am I doing? It’s her test, she can pass or fail on her own.” I muttered, shoving my hands in my pockets and turning around.

You care don’t you? It’s your instinct isn’t it? That’s your teammate screaming out there and you want to help her...Don’t you? Ryuu said slyly.

I stopped and clenched my fists.

“But the test, if I go now...” I said through clenched teeth.

Come on, tell the truth. You don’t care about the test. And besides, you already looked into the outcome of it. You know he’s just testing you on teamwork don’t you? Well if you went out there and helped her that would be teamwork right? He chuckled.

“What are you playing at? Yesterday you were trying to help me, this morning you helped me with a boy, before the test you yelled at me and told me I couldn’t make friends and now your trying to help me again? What do you want?” I whispered quietly.

Before he could respond Sakura’s scream pierced the air again. I swore and held out my hand.

“Shin! We’re going!” I yelled.

“Alright!” He yelled, transforming and flying into my hand.

I gripped the handle and flashed into the woods. Stay alive, Sakura. I thought desperately.
