Chapter 7

I held the door open for him as he walked out of his apartment and down the stairs. It was about 6:30. We walked in silence for a while until I couldn’t take it anymore.

“I don’t understand you.” I mumbled angrily.

“Hn?” He grunted.

“Yesterday I insulted your clan, you attacked me. On the roof you tried to help me and I shoved you off, later that day you called my your enemy and vowed to beat me. And this morning you saved me from bleeding to death. You’re so confusing. I don’t even know you. Why do you help me?” I asked bitterly.

He was quiet for a few steps, “I can’t explain it exactly. I just feel...I don’t know...” He trailed.

I smirked slightly, “Are we friends or enemies, Sasuke?” I asked sincerely.

He didn’t answer.

“Not going to answer?” I said blankly.

“Hn, you’re annoying-”

“And you’re an a*****e.” I growled.

“We’re friends,” He said quickly.

I stopped completely. “What?” I said in bewilderment.

“I said we’re friends. I don’t care if you know things about Itachi, I’m not ready to face him yet so I don’t want to know where he is yet. I don’t care if you say you could change fate, you’re just like me. Alone and trying to find answers through revenge. We’re the same, so now we’re friends. That’s why I saved you, so I didn’t lose a friend I just got.” He said embarrassedly.

I smiled, “Alright. I’m going to hold you to that.” I said.

“Good, now hurry up or we’ll be late and Uchiha’s are never late to anything.” He said holding out his hand.

I looked at him, “I want to get to know you better, Misaki.” He said kindly.

I rolled my eyes, this can’t be real, I thought absently. I shrugged and took his hand and began running, pulling him along with me towards the training field.

“Harconnas aren’t late for anything either! Don’t count me out yet!” I laughed as I dragged him with me.

We were at the training field before anyone else was. When we walked into the middle of the field I stopped. 

“Crap,” I whispered staring at my blood on the ground.

It was everywhere, all over the grass and dirt. 

“I’ll get it,” I whispered.

I focused all my chalkra in my hands and pictured a huge wave of water washing away all the blood and took in a deep breath.

“Twin Palm Press! Water Style! Water Shock Wave!” I hissed, clapping my hands together and stamping them on the ground.

The river across from us began to tremble and it suddenly exploded in a huge wave of water that rushed over all of the training field, taking all my blood with it.

“Whoa...” Sasuke said quietly as the water rushed back to it’s original place.

I smiled and turned to him, “Haha. You look surprised.” I said sticking my tongue out.

“Do I?” He said slowly. 

I rolled my eyes, “Do you know what time it is?” I asked.

He shook his head, “Probably close to 7. Hey...How did you do that?” He asked.

I cocked my head, “My dad taught me a lot of jutsus before he died, you could say he taught me...Every jutsu in the world.” I laughed.

Sasuke relaxed a little. “Oh. I get it now. Hn.” He said quietly.

“Jeeze, Sasuke.” I said exasperatedly.

“What?” He asked.

“You’re so different, you’re quiet and mean and you act so cool. It’s funny to watch.” I laughed.

He moved so he was in front of me and grabbed the collar of the shirt I was wearing, picking me up so our faces were inches away. 

“What are you saying?” He growled in my face.

I stared at him, “What are you doing? I didn’t even say anything bad this time. Jeeze, you’ve got a short temper.” I said amusingly.

He likes you. Ryuu laughed. Say one more word and I commit suicide tonight you stupid lizard. I growled. He was quiet.

“What?” He said blinking.

“Umm...This is kinda awkward but could you let go? You’re kinda squishing my chest and uhh...Area...” I said blushing.

He looked down to where his arm was and jumped backwards, “Ahhh! Sorry, sorry, I-”

“Sasuke-kun?” 

I straightened my collar and looked up, Sakura had just walked in from the forest path instead of the one me and Sasuke took.

“Sasuke-kun? Hi! I thought you’d be here since you’re always so punctual about being on time and...Oh...Hi Misa-”

She stopped when she saw what I was wearing. Her eyes grew wide and she ran over to Sasuke.

“What happened? Did she come in your house and take your clothes?!” She said hurriedly. 

Sasuke shook his head.

“Then what happened, Sasuke? Talk to me!” She yelled.

“I gave them to her when she came to my house to get me this morning.” He shrugged.

Her face fell, “She came to your house? Did you ask her to? Is she stalking you?!” She said desperately.

“No, she came to pick me up because we’re friends.” He said, “Jeeze, you’re annoying.” He said coldly.

She looked like her puppy just died. 

“Sasuke! That’s not very nice, she is a girl you know. And it’s obvious she likes you. Why are you being so mean?” I asked, humor thick in my voice.

He glared at me and she clenched her hands angrily. She spun around, “Don’t you dare stick up for me! I don’t need your help!!!” She spat.

I raised my eyebrows, “Well. Calm down now, I was only trying to kick-start your relationship..No need to bite my head off.” I muttered, glaring her right back.

A white hot pain shot through my stomach and I lurched forward, coughing and gagging in pain. I fell on my knees clutching my stomach.

“Hey!” Sasuke yelled running over.

“Don’t come near!” I yelled angrily.

What is this? Ryuu?! What’s going on?! I yelled angrily. You listen to me and you listen good because I will not repeat this. That boy, isn’t your friend. You have no friends, you are alone. You are a monster, you don’t go acting like your human ok? Because you’re not! You’ll never fit in with them so quit kidding yourself! Ryuu spat. I gasped, What’s wrong with you?! I yelled. He was quiet. Powered swelled inside of me, power from Ryuu. Stop...I can’t control your power yet..They might get hurt..I whispered. Why should you care? They’re not your friends right? I don’t care if you like that boy, don’t get to close to him. You can never stay with either of them, even if you wanted to. You can’t control the power and I can’t hold back forever, there will be a time when I let loose all of my power. You could end up accidentally killing them if you’re not careful. Understand? He said bitterly. Why are you doing this? You were helping me earlier, now you’re suddenly against me? I spat. He was quiet as he power receded into nothing.

I stayed on all fours, panting and gagging until the pain began to fade. I took in a huge breath of air and sat back, blinking away tears.

“Hey! What happened?” Sasuke yelled, shaking me repeatedly.

I grinned at him faintly, “Why are you so worried? I’m fine, see? It’s nothing, really.” I said kindly.

He raised his eyebrows angrily, “Don’t give me that! What was that?!” 

I stared at him coldly, “My injuries just hurt. Now are you going to help me up or what?” I said flatly.

He looked hurt briefly but stood up, holding out his hand and grabbing my arm.

I brushed the dirt of my shorts and walked towards a nearby tree, leaning against it’s trunk and ignoring the looks they were shooting me.

“HEY!!! Sakura!!!” 

She groaned and turned around, “Hi Naruto,” She said half-heartedly.

“About time,” I whispered.

“Hello everyone, sorry I’m late, I just got lost on the path of life,” Someone said behind me.

I groaned again and walked forward as Kakashi Sensei came out from behind the tree I was leaning against. He walked forward and stopped briefly when he was next to me.

“Your hurt, are you ok for the test?” He whispered.

“I can handle it,” I growled.

He smiled, “Good, because you would’ve been disqualified if you had said otherwise,” He said cheerfully.

Then he turned to Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke. “Now, here’s the test. See those stumps over there? And these bells in my hand? Your goal is to grab these bells before Noon. If you fail to complete this task you will be tied to the stumps and forced to watch me eat me lunch.” He said happily holding up 2 bells.

“That’s why you said we shouldn’t eat breakfast?! That’s not fair! I didn’t even eat dinner last night!” Sakura exclaimed angrily.

“Bad time to go on a diet,” He said happily.

Sasuke blinked and looked at him, “There are only 2 bells.” He pointed out.

“Yes, very good, Sasuke. That means that-”

“The 2 that don’t get a bell are going to be sent back automatically.” I said slowly.

He turned to me, “Interrupting me?” He said slowly.

I nodded and yawned, “Can we just get started with this test already?” I said angrily.

“Impatient? Your starting to look pathetic. I’m beginning to wonder if you have any strength at all.” He said.

I blinked, “Oh, I’m strong. Believe me.” I growled.

He smiled, “Alrighty then. The test starts in 3...2...1....NOW!!”
