Chapter 5

Time to get up. You better start training before the test. Ryuu said, startling my awake from my dream.

I rubbed my eyes sleepily and glanced at the clock, 4:00 A.M. I groaned miserably. Ryuu!! It’s so early! I complained. I don’t care. Your going to be practicing everything you know today! He commanded. I sighed and got out of bed, grabbing my clothes and walking into the bathroom groggily. As I was getting dressed I brushed my scar slightly and froze. I glanced at the long gash that ran from my left shoulder all the way to my right thigh and closed my eyes. Stupid 9 tailed fox, I thought angrily. 

If your done getting dressed then let’s go. Ryuu demanded. Your not hungry? I asked. Not today now lets go! He yelled. I winced slightly and grabbed my ninja tools, clipping them to my side. I grabbed my headband and tied it tightly around my waist like a belt and was almost out the door when I stopped, I turned on my heel and ran back into the bathroom, grabbing a brush and hair tie. I brushed my shoulder-length dark brown hair into a quick ponytail and grabbed the one of the small bottle’s of pills I had, slipping it in my ninja tool pouch as I ran out the door.

The training field was empty when I got there. Good. 

I walked slowly to the middle of the field, “Alright, Ryuu. What do you want to practice?” I asked out loud.

Shut up and make 5 shadow clones. He growled.

I stretched my arms and made the hand sign with the two first fingers on both of my hands, “Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu!” I hissed.

There was a small popping sound and a big cloud of smoke. When the smoke cleared there were 5 exact copies of me standing in front of me, staring at me. 

“Alright, now what?” I asked, they all blinked in confusion.

Divide all of your chalkra evenly into all of them, only leave 10% for yourself. Then tell them to attacking you with everything they’ve got. I want to see if you can defeat them all. He said evilly. 

I sighed, “Alright listen up you 5! I’m going to divide my chalkra evenly between the 5 of you guys. Leaving 10% for myself. When I’m done doing that I want you to attack me with everything you’ve got. Understand?” I explained.

They all nodded and took fighting stances. “Get ready to hurt,” One of the clones said confidently to me.

I raised my eyebrows and began dividing the chalkra. As soon as I was done with that they all ran towards me at one time, kunai’s drawn, fury in their eyes. I stepped back and raised my hands. All at once they jumped in the air, throwing what seemed like hundreds of kunai directly at me. I clenched my fists and jumped backwards, flipping on my hands until I was out of their range. I skidded to a stop and made the handsigns of the ox, rabbit and the monkey. I raised my hands in the air.

“Lightning style! Twin Chidoris!” I yelled.

Two balls of lightning formed, one in each of my hands. I winced as my chalkra began to deplete and ran towards the clones. The two in the front jumped out of my way but the three behind them weren’t so lucky, my jutsu went through each of their heads before they realized I was there. I cut off the jutsu and collapsed on my knees, panting.

Damn, I forgot about not having chalkra, I thought angrily. Now what?

The two remaining clones popped up in front of me, one using the Chidori and the other using the Rasengan. I gasped and jumped in the air, kicking off of one clones head to gain lift. They dropped their jutsus and one jumped after me, grabbing my ankles and slamming me into the ground. My back arched as my mouth filled with blood. The other clone popped up above me and aimed a heel kick right at my stomach. I coughed and rolled sideways, sweeping my left leg in a low kick just as she hit the ground, hitting her ankles. She gasped as my kunai sunk into her chest and back. 

There was a loud popping sound and a big cloud of smoke engulfed me and the remaining clone. I put my hand in front of my eyes, Damn, I’m basically blind. I thought bitterly. I heard a tiny metallic whistling coming form behind me. I jumped to my right throwing my own kunai behind me. In return 5 more kunai came out of the smoke. I knew I couldn’t dodge them all. I jumped left and held my arms in front of my face. I winced as 2 kunai sunk deep into my right forearm.

“Damnit!!” I hissed.

Ignoring the pain I dug my heels into the ground, shoving off and shooting myself forward, towards the clone. 3 more kunai came out of the smoke but I didn’t dodge them, I needed to end this now. I kept moving forward as the two kunai sunk into my left shoulder and one grazed my lower stomach. Tears stung my eyes as I pulled out my last kunai, holding it in front of me firmly. 

The clone never saw me coming and before he realized what was happening my kunai was deep in his chest. He gasped and began to chuckle evilly.

“That was unexpected, congratulations, you’ve passed.” He hissed as he disappeared in a final burst of smoke.

I fell on my knees, clutching my stomach wound where I was bleeding heaviest. I began to blink back stars as I panted, gasping for breath. I felt a trickle of blood leak out from my mouth and drip of my chin. Oh god...I don’t think I can make it out of this one...RYUU! Ryuu please help me! I yelled. No. This is still the test, you have to survive. You better find a way to stop that bleeding before you die...Just a thought....He laughed.

I pulled out the kunai hurriedly and tried to make myself stand, my legs were shaking and my entire body felt weak. I began to gag from pain when I finally stood up, kept my head down as I took shaky steps forward.

“Damn....” I panted, “I don’t...Not gonna make it...Damn!” I hissed.

There was a small crunching sound behind me as someone stepped on a leaf but I ignored it, I was to confused, to scared of my own death. I didn’t see this coming..Literally...The person was getting closer, running towards me.

“Misaki!?!” A man yelled from behind me. 

I panted and turned around slowly but found myself looking at the ground, fresh blood coming from my wound. 

“Hey!! Stay with me!!” The man yelled.

I laughed quietly and closed my eyes, sinking into a darkness I knew I wouldn’t come out of.
