UntitledA Poem by Wedge RobinsonCare for the heart that cared for yours
Your loudest words are the ones you've yet to speak.
With eyes so evocative its a wonder that you speak at all. And when you try to hide your emotions, you tend to show them most. And for a time, you lie to yourself. You feed your mind dulcet thoughts of happy ever after. And once you've filled yourself to the brim with ghostly treasures, your momentary escapes will turn to tears. I've seen your distraught self, your heart bruised and broken. Your body aquiver, your soul in shackles. And with every elixer you drank, every capsule you swallowed, the incandescence that imbued you grew dim. A gaze that used to fetch my heart, now hides in shadows, and as I look at your stained face, I can still muster a smile. I know you haven't slipped my fingers just yet. So I come to you with nails and hammers, ready to mend your merit. And there will be no barrier or boundary that I won't cross or break, to see your lungs breathe with purpose again. Your passionate heart will be restored in full, and your blood will run joyous throughout your body. And if the task becomes seemingly unbearable, and the cause to fix you may ever feel lost, I will be sure to remind myself of how you once did the same for me. © 2016 Wedge RobinsonAuthor's Note
