Mister Misery

Mister Misery

A Poem by Dave G.
"

Who doesn't love some good old fashioned misery?

"

It’s been a long time coming

You missed my hidden signs

We are all but done and

I’ll thank you for your time

I don’t dare start running

Cause now I’m back at home

One's my lucky number

And I’m better off alone

Don’t waste your life

On what feels just right

You’re not my Mrs. Me

I’m Mister Misery

Who I used to be

There’s nothing left of me

It is all history

I’m Mister Misery

Sure I felt the loving

Said “I love you too”

Led your heart to nowhere

It was the decent thing to do

All your feelings numbing

Is what you’re going through

I run the heartbreak hotel

And there’s a vacancy for you

Don’t waste your time

On the ifs and might’s

You’re not my Mrs. Me

I’m Mister Misery

Who I choose to be

Is staring right at me

It is no mystery

I’m Mister Misery

Are you my Mrs. Me?

I like the rhythm of this poem very much and the questions it raises and the way you handle the subject matter. Very thought provoking, keep up the inner ponderances!
