I think that this is one of my most thought provoking poems. So when you read this I would just like you all to stop and think. Just Think. That is all I am asking.

Mirror

I look in the mirror and I know what I should see

I should see me, my reflection

But what do I see?

I a girl who isn’t me at all

This girl seems to stand out more than my real body

Nothing fits into place in my mind

Everything is a jumbled puzzle

A puzzle that can’t be solved by even the best of minds

This puzzle is even too jumbled for me to solve

So what do I see myself as?

I see myself as this distorted figure

A figure that doesn’t belong in this world

A figure that is better off dead than alive

I am a monster

A monster doomed to walk the earth until the day I die

What a glorious day!

The day I die

But until that day…

I look in the mirror and I know what I should see

I should see me, my reflection

But what do I see?

I a girl who isn’t me at all

This girl seems to stand out more than my real body

Wow. That was very thought provoking. I was almost getting an image of seeing myself in the mirror, thinking these same things. Amazing. Think is really what it made me do! I reread this just to get the same chilling feeling that I got the first time around. Good work!
