Finals WeekA Poem by Mike WolfeDedicated to my fellow college students: "May the odds be ever in your favor"Rise up, oh ye student! I know this hour is not prudent, But all this week is the tests And you must do your best. Study hard all night Until dawn’s first light Go ahead, drink some coffee Enjoy a little caffeinated glee. Then study, study, study Until your fingers are bloody From thousands of paper cuts No, “ifs, ands, or buts.” Sleep is an now only an option, Alarm clocks are a precaution. Make sure to write that essay And fall to your knees and pray That your professor will have grace Because you did it at break-neck pace. Calculate your minimum grade To see how much effort must be made, Then you may go cry And wonder exactly why You didn’t put more energy in before. Cuz now you’re curled up on the floor Begging all the torture to end Even though you don’t have this time to spend You have books and outlines to read Even though it’s caffeine you need. Don’t bother with sleep You can collapse in a heap At the end of finals week © 2014 Mike WolfeFeatured Review
