The Beast InsideA Poem by Mike WolfeWe have inner demons. The parts of us we want to hide, the monsters that rage under our skin.I feel it crawling inside, There is no where I can hide, There’s a monster hiding under my skin I feel it tearing my soul within, I see it when I look in the mirror, It’s more hideous than I feared. My skin hides the truth of who I am, But don’t trust me, because I’m a scam. I’m a monster in saint’s clothing, I am the very thing I’m loathing; My pure soul with sin’s dark taint, I’m a sinner and a saint; I’m a beauty and a beast. My soul’s a demon’s feast. This is one thing I can’t fight, My beast inside, black as night. © 2014 Mike WolfeReviews
