Suffocation

Suffocation

A Poem by Mike Wolfe
"

Life is really a slow death. Suffocating under the strain of staying alive.

"

Suffocating under my own fear

Under the weight of my broken dreams

Falling from eye is a cold tear

For now I must die, or so it seems

O to be free of these locks and chains

Can I ever breathe free once again?

Am I forever left with sin stains?

There is no way I can still pretend

I can breathe no longer, world goes black

O the pain! O the sorrow! O death.

No air, no more breath, I can’t go back

This poem inspires thoughts of happiness. As if one can erase/ let go of the past and every stress they have, and they can start by taking a big breath. Great job Mike :)

Not exactly meant to inspire happiness, but I see where you're coming from and I agree with you
Excellent acrostic, and well done indeed, Mr Wolfe.
There is also a sad amount of truth to this, and countless people are smothered by their trials.

I don't understand how people allow guilt to rule their lives. The past belongs in the past. This poem makes me want to breathe in the cold air deeply... and let everything go - start fresh.....
