Burn

Burn

A Poem by Mike Wolfe
"

What happens when your world crashes and burns around you.

"

I feel my skin begin to sear

The fire continues to burn

Too hot to even shed a tear

But maybe this time I will learn

I should never play with fire

The ash seems to drift down like rain

Is this my funeral pyre?

I can’t stand this amount of pain

The flames lick away at my skin

And I can feel it melt away.

This suffering comes from within.

And this time it’s here to stay.

I feel my face go up in flame.

But that’s no one else’s concern.

For I have got no one to blame.

And now I am left here to burn.
