sleep paralysis

you awake

in the dead of night.

you cant move your head

but you can move your eyes

your body is paralyzed.

no matter your efforts, you cant move

your mind races with thoughts of impending doom.

is this death, is this what it feels like?

is it all in your head, or are you losing your mind?

you try to shout for help

the words just don't come out.

your alarm clock starts screamin

you realize you were dreamin.

a smile spreads then quickly fades from your face

you realize eventually you'll really be dead some day.
