A Shrouded Moon

A Shrouded Moon

A Poem by Mike Scinto
"

A wanderer muses to himself on a cloudy night.

"

Too black is the night.

Too heavy is the sky’s cowl.

The moon is gone,

shrouded in a blanket of grey.

I know it is there"

I see but the fainted halo behind the clouds.

Yet that is not enough.

In the darkness, I am alone.

There is nothing to guide my path,

no light to keep me company.

Only the silent whisperings of the wind,

and the stillness of a sleeping world.

You paint a scene....
and describe the event...
and the ending puts a rather...
tentative closure with the 2 last lines:

Only the silent whisperings of the wind,
and the stillness of a sleeping world.
---
Only the silent whispers of the wind,
and the stillness of a sleeping world.

I believe also you wanted to use the word:

whisperings /whispers
