blaze

blaze

A Poem by Michael of Gilead
"

the time of the year

"

Slanted sunlight of muddled gold

Shines through my window

Brown, yellow and reddish marks of a

summer gone, wind smeared across the russet grass

Smell of dust mixed in the breeze

Charcoal with the scent of rain

Crimson sunsets, crystalline moonshine

Ground crinkles under my feet

Old Oaks rain acorns

As cold settles deep

Read and read and read your poem, it's beautiful, breathtaking! But, which stanza to select as my favourite .. this one? that one? all? Finally decided on the following: ' .. Brown, yellow and reddish marks of a ~ summer gone, wind smeared across the russet grass ..' For me those words encapsulate the passing of time in all its glorious colours and movements.

Sighhhhh.
