Yesteryear

Yesteryear

A Poem by Michael of Gilead

I sit and gaze

On a day so blue skied

And reminiscent

I fear no evil

Feeling only loss

I close my eyes

To the sound of a jet

I can still see

The plumes of smoke

Last night, the pillars of light

Seemed to join the earth

To the sky

An edifice rises, rebuilt

But more has been lost

Never to be regained

Sad pools, filling with tears

Mark a place of never forgot

The sun warms my back

A lonely bell rings

It’s 10:28……….

Thanks
As I read this on the night 11 years after, the memory, the tears. a place I will never forget. Thank you for sharing, even now I will never forget, some say move on, some say it has been a decade. But can you ever forget the memories that day that are etched in your brain forever? The answer for me... No
