Goodbye Snow White

Goodbye Snow White

A Poem by M.E.Lyle

Goodbye Snow White

I saw her there in that box, still and cold.

Dressed in white, rose petals scattered round her gentle frame.

Snow White, done in not by poisoned apples sent from her evil stepmother.

Not this Princess of light and joy.

Her end would come from another source.

The handsome Prince, whom she loved so dearly, had cheated, mocked, and finally, on a cold foggy day, tossed her away like old trash.

Her heart burst and she died.

Here she lie this day, a sad reminder of love misguided.

We say goodbye dear Princess

Lovers will love, dreamers dream

Life goes on

As though you never existed at all.

But I will know

I will know.

Gee
Ach, she was nowt more than a brazen hussy, shacked up with 7 vertically challenged miners who took turns in sharing her bed....tut, tut.
And the kids, man they were fugly :)

"...lovers will love, dreamers dream...life goes on."

I love your ode to Snow White, especially the closing. Wonderful lines!

'Goodbye Snow White'
M.E.Lyle,
Hmm.. this was a wake up call to remember the vulnerability of those who have given their hearts. We do that, all of us in varying ways and degrees. The description of this lovely princess in white..it speaks of her devotion to her prince. Sometimes our subject of love can turn and be an unfaithful one.
