Shades of War

Shades of War

A Poem by Assassin of the Light
"

Song lyrics

"

storm the beach of normandy

through walls of lead blood shall flow

freezing in the battle of the bulge

fall to your death in blood stained snow

no matter the different

shades of war

men still die

and blood still pours

the shades of war

aren't black or white

the flags still fly

and the men still fight

flush out caves of Iwo Jima

Mount Surabachi eats mortar shell

lost in thick Filipino jungles

welcome to South Pacific hell

drop the bomb and end it all

or the mighty empire will not fall

drop the bomb and end it all

no more executions, break down the wall

no matter the different

shades of war

men still die

and blood still pours

the shades of war

aren't black or white

the flags still fly

and the men still fight

no matter how you muddy

the shades of war

you're still painting thick strokes

of blood and gore
