UntitledA Poem by MikaelahSomething that has been bothering me for some time now.
My mother and father, they had destroyed one another
Taking their lives, but never their love Abandoned they had left it there, smoldering with embers They had forgotten I was small, never the one to speak And so I had been silent, weeping gently With a fear that a similar fate is what I would meet But as your thumb touches my cheek, I beg you not to leave I am allowing vulnerability, a lethal trait Embracing it as I would you Fully knowing it is a risk, A risk I had made not too soon © 2010 MikaelahAuthor's Note
