Marionette

Marionette

A Poem by Mikaelah
"

This is old, written in mid 2008. A guy betrayed my trust, and this was my way of venting. I was so emo in sixth grade, so 'scuse that.

"
Plastic strings of lies tug at my sore limbs
manipulating my body to your every whim
A smirk plastered on your face as you watch my tears fall
The erratic beating of my heart against tight walls

What you did will never compare to any other pain
Our love ending in flames
Your morality not evident in our relationship
Have you no shame?

Was I your mere puppet?
A doll for your own amusement
A play toy. Nothing more

My face, contorted in pure sadness
My wrists sting from violent gashes
Yet, you laugh manically
A taunting expression pointed toward me

You leave me on the ground, impressed with your work
No sorrowful goodbye
But my face full of dirt

Yeah. You might want to edit the ending. You need a more satisfying conclusion, maybe a bit more powerful. Still, you display emotion very well.

Such emotions running through this and very creatively written.. love can cause such pain... more pain when we feel used or rejected. Marionettes we can be if we allow it.. living in balance with friends, dating and having goals or hobbies will cut the strings that others can use. Having multiple outlets is the way to avoid such a travesty.. loved your ending I didn't find it lame.. I found it empowering in the fact that it's a lesson learned that many have felt! Great job getting that out there!
